24H BD

Yesterday my son and I were at the 24H BD that took place on our Youth Hostel in Madeira.
It was great ... We really enjoyed ourselves.

BIRTHDAY GIRL....

On the 23rd it was my grandmother's 90th birthday. Today we all had lunch to celebrate.
Three quick sketches because I was doing lunch....

MEMENTO MORI STUDIES

My first solo exposition at the "Taverna Real". It will be running for two weeks. It's on the Old Town, Travessa das Torres nº 6. The place is run by two beautifull artists.
The exposition is 6 drawing studies about Memento Mori.
If you are in Funchal, Madeira, came and see it for yourself.

Installation "Reconexão"

Yesterday I was in Zona Velha helping out Trindade Vieira and the group "Madeira em Transição". Trindade Vieira, me and Rui Abreu, we drew some of the existing flora before the fires in mid July that hit Madeira really hard. And we drew with charcoal from the fires... It was a really interestng experience. Really enjoyed myself. The people were (are) great.

LUNCH AT MY MOMS...

Since my mother didn't wanted my help with lunch I started to be useful for myself ....
I've never drawn her so took the chance to changed that...

Full afternoon

I really enjoyed myself today.
I was finally in a sketchcrawl here at Madeira with "my" group Urban Sketchers Portugal-Madeira. Only 15 minutes but it was god. Sé cathedral was the subject.
And I had the second class of the BD Course.
Really nice.
After this, me and Roberto were talking about our big exposition.
What more do I want.... More work, of course.... :P

Greek Statues

I'm doing a set of drawings, studies about greek statues for sell... And this is number 1

How do you draw, which technique do you use, do you cheat??????

This is a lot of the questions that I normally receive... Quite honest it's really annoying, specially the bit when they ask if I do cheat and use the light box to copy the figures, etc... I do use the light box that my husband build for me, in extreme cases, specially when I'm to sick to draw and I have to work... Normally 99% of the time I use the computer or a photocopy of the image I'm going to draw... So I use the brain, the eyes and my right hand. Hope I cleared some doubt.

Life Model Charcoal...

I bloody hate Charcoal. It has been more than 20 years since I last drawed something in Charcoal...

The Model it's my son but the drawing, don't ask me why, end up being a mixture of us both... I known that he resembles me... this is like i've put the faces one on top of the other.... Creepy... Hope you like it...

Project "UCUA"

"Um Calhau Um Artista"... A calhau it's a "little" stone on our beachs. One calhau One Artist. So, we have to work the way we want this calhau. Don't know what I'm I going to do with my. My son helped me pick it up. Hopefully it will come out something interesting... Have to wait and see...

MY BOTTLE FOR "CRIAR NUMA GARRAFA"

The inspiration came from the old times when women used to kill their husbands with poison... Yes ladies, there was no divorces, just....He was so young to die....

EXHIBITION DAY ARRIVED...

It was great... So much creativity... I really enjoyed myself ....

The next piece didn't enter the exhibition. Trindade Vieira is the coordenator of the exhibition and he done this piece. It's the squeleton of the banana leave... I think it's great...  :P

I'm taking part this friday of a art show called "Create on a bottle" at the Mouraria Art Gallery... The name says it all... I've created on a bottle, if you are in Archipelago of Madeira come along and check us out... It starts at 18:30... I'll be there waiting for you...
