Just a little bit to finish....

DAY 2 OF THE 100 DAY PROJECT

Day 2 W.I.P. Echinaceas Study in oils on canvas 7x5" (13x18cm)

DAY 1 OF THE 100 DAY PROJECT

Day 1 W.I.P. Magnolia Study in oils on canvas 7x5"(13x18cm)
Because I need the paintings to be a little more dry so I can refine them, the oil paintings will never (rarely) be ready on the same day.
With all this projects I like to do something different to my norm (portraits)... so just outside my comfort zone I decided to paint flowers.
I've been avoiding painting flowers because it feels like a cliche, women painting flowers, but when I look at the beautiful dutch still lifes... those flowers ROCK! How can I not paint them...Hopefully by the end of the #the100dayproject I will be a little bit closer to the dutch still lifes! (Wishful thinking!!)

When the paintings are dry and varnished they will be put up for sale! Keep an eye on them!

The #the100dayproject was created by Elle Luna and you can check her website elleluna.com
   Join the project too!

STORY OF ME WEEK 4...

And last week!

My last phrase is "The queen could dance fantastically. Do you like my story?"

And this project came to a full circle!
The first illustration we see my author thinking about what she was going to write!
In the last one the book is ready and she is reading it to a young group of fans! Did they like the story? Of course they did! She is an amazing author!

Wednesday 22 March 2017

STORY OF ME WEEK 3

My author sent me next week's phrase: "the children played with the queen".

Today it is so dark that even the flash doesn't help!

STORY OF ME PROJECT WEEK 1 AND 2

Mrs. Susannah Jeffries, a class teacher for P2A,  had the brilliant idea of uniting 6 years old with illustrators.

This project will run throughout March!

Before I show my illustrations, I will not name the child attributed to me for privacy reasons nor will I share her photos. She will be illustrated every week, it's part of the project.

Here's my illustrations/collaboration with my author:

Week one my author sent me the following phrase: '________(name of the child) is an author. What has she been doing today?'

Week two my author's phrase is: 'She is thinking of stories for children. She is going to write about a queen.'

What will my author send me for the next weeks???
