VEGUSTO...

So yesterday I decide to order Vegusto to see what the foss is all about faux-cheeses.
My son and I really don't like faux-meat done with soya. The only soya that we're eating right now is our butter (Pure).
It never appeal to us. Because we never really liked meat so why tried to replace it. Yes, sure some of you saw me enjoying my cookings with meat. But did you notice the amount of flavouring with spices that I added?
Well, back to the Vegusto, I order a starter kit and I have to say they're client service is the best. Even the delivery company they use, sent emails and messages to my phone number, telling me what time and even the name of the driver who was delivering the package... That's 5 star service. Well done!
     Here's some pictures:

I turn around to get my camera, turn around to take a photo what do I see...Lea!

Busy bee...

Been having fun assembling furniture, the two black tables, for my studio.
I should make it a business out of it... the assembling I mean... Realy like it, it's like big puzzles.
How much people would pay me for it???
Here's some photos

P.S. If you noted a black thing in a plastic box on the right side of the photo, near my computer, it's my crazy cat-daughter

Drawing a line... (vegan)

Of all the  new Derwent products that I bought recently only the Onyx are not vegan.
I've looked in their chart and all the doubts that I had about 3 of the Aquatone pencils were unnecessary, there are all vegan, apparently, for example ivory black and sap green are just names.

This is were I'll draw my line!
What I mean with this is I'm quite comfortable to buy products from Derwent that are not vegan. Why? Because they've made an effort to present products that are. For example the graphic pencils, the onix, natural graphite, etc are considered not vegan (they don't example why) I'm guessing it has something to do with the way the test the lightfastness with blue wool.

If 60% or more percentage of my artmaterial are vegan I quite happy and I feel that I'm making a difference!
I was feeling overwhelmed and very disappointed with myself when I had doubts with the Aquatone. I said to myself 'Enough with this type of thoughts it's impossible to be 100% vegan be proud that you are already making a difference'.

A quick resume for the products that I'm interested (some I already have, other's I'll have yet to buy)
Graphitint  Vegan all (have it)
Coloursoft Vegan all (have it)
Aquatone   Vegan all (have it)
Graphitone  Vegan all (have it)
Artbar        Vegan all
Metallic      Vegan all
Pastel pencils Vegan all
Artist        a few are not Vegan

Onyx not vegan (have it)
Drawing not vegan
Inktense not vegan
natural graphite  not vegan
XL graphite not vegan
Tinted Charcoal  not vegan

Here's a link of the Derwent Products and choose a product from the left list and check the colour chart and lighfast ratings. It's there were you find if the product is vegan or not.

GUESS?.... POST !

Still have a pretty big list of Derwent materials that I want to buy.
But I'm quite satisfied for the time being (I'll try to...)

I was waiting for these new babies to arrive so I can do some colour charts of all the new material. As soon as possible I'll be posting them.

Meanwhile here's a photo of the new material... Love the smell of these pencils...

MY SON'S PORTRAIT FINALLY UP...

I've been really busy (for over a month) organizing my papers, notes, learning the best of my hability about Vegan lifestyle, doing my tax return (done, submitted... nerve wreaking for time, I've done here, I'm really strick with myself and I do hope I didn't screw up... I take really serious...)...

Yesterday I've put the portrait that I've done of my son up (for the time being it's looking perfect where it is!). Lea had to be around for the photo of course, she even climb the books to make sure I had her ...

(the figurines are all together, so Lea doesn't break any again)

NEW BLOG...

It took me nearly a month to decide if I would create a new blog about my Vegan Lifestyle (and other stuff !) or if I continue posting here. Eureka or shall I say Freacking finally I made my mind up... It was pissing me off a bit (Yes, I can not only drive all of you crazy, I can drive my self crazy also, from time to time).
I was also thinking about the name of the blog... every name I thought was either a song title, a book, blogs, sites, etc... frustrating...

          www.myeudaimoniautopia.blogspot.com

Eudaimonia = cutting short means happiness, well being

Utopia = cutting short means  perfect world, society

This is why my site description is "Welcome to my voyage for a mindful world  of happiness where respect and kindness for all beings and nature is imperative!"

My perfect world!

W.I.P. KITCHEN CURTAIN

Yesterday I manage to add 4 hours of work in one of the kitchen curtain's panels.
Total of 9 hours

Tuesday 1 April 2014

W.I.P. KITCHEN CURTAIN

W.I.P. I'm redoing the kitchen curtain with a different thread. The other one    made the kitchen to dark and was to bulky. This is 5 hours of work, 31 -inches/78cm...doesn't look that much does it? :(
In the picture you see starting from the left side a bit of a small  petal, 1 leaf, a big petal and another leaf. It's going to be roses.
The kitchen will have two panels.

STAIRCASE CURTAIN

My staircase curtain is ready .... finally!
I know it's a bit dark but I'm afraid if I waited until tomorrow there might not be a curtain to show off :P Lea found it very amusing

HOBBYDRAWING CLUB

At Hobbydrawing Club today we explored the portrait. I choose a tibetian old man.
It's easy when you are starting drawing portraits for the first time if you choose an older person. If you get the tones wrong you can only make a little bit younger or a little bit older but it's Ok.
In the first half of the workshop I give some studies of eyes, nose, mouth, ear, hair to free the hands and harm them up for the big portrait.
They did a good job. I was happy with the results. Thank you !
2 hours is not enough...

MY FIRST HANDMADE BY MYSELF (OF COURSE) BERET AND OTHER PROJECTS IN W.I.P

It's so easy and I love berets that I'm kicking myself on the butt for not doing it sooner... What was I waiting for???

I know a little of crochet but all my projects are different from the "normal" crochet stich that I used to do.
Here's some photos of my beret and also the work in progress

Lea, not so happy pussycat

 W.I.P. basketweave scarf

W.I.P. Still haven't made my mind if it's going to be a vest or a tunic. The "stripes" are to be use vertical

FACEBOOK

I've closed my Facebook Account and my Facebook Page on the 14th February 2014.
Got sick off the headless posts and comments on it. Bitching has nothing to do with me.
I prefer to spent time on the internet more productive.

All you interested can follow me on twitter (nairanubis) or on the other sites indicated on the right side of the screen.
